This piece looks at the emotions a computer feels after having been replaced. In first world countries we are now richer than ever before, and we spend a lot of money on luxury goods, such as computers. One problem with computer technology is that since it changes so quickly there is always the urge to own the fastest, newest model.

In the story this is shown with the the two main characters, the emac and the G5. The emac was the best computer a year ago but has now been replaced by the newest model.

The emac now pushed into a corner of the desk with keyboard and mouse unplugged to save space, discovers that he has been replaced by the G5. The spot on the desk that the emac once called home now has a new owner. The emac vents his anger towards the G5, but anger is a powerful emotion.
